I have a new coverlay plastic dash cover that I am planning to try on my 944. However, prior to installation I will have it professionally covered in leather...so the dash itself is going to look leather wrapped.
I may have the center console wrapped in leather also.
Has anyone ever tried covering their dash in leather? If so, how did you do it? Any photos?

I did a dash on a 914 in leather and it came out flawless.. Was about to do it on my brothers 944S but never got around to it since it involves removing the dash etc. Its easy enough to do it alone, make sure once you get the dash out you make it smooth where it has any cracks. Cut the leather piece a bit bigger than all the edges of the dash, and worry about cuting all of the openings later, Then get some good quality carpenters contact glue on the leather and the dash let it dry to the air a bit then put it together. The exess leather on the outer edges of the dash and around the openings need to be bent around to the back of dash and glued. then just put it back together. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
