Video from the autocross this weekend.
Went to the Rocky Mountain Region SCCA Solo II event this last weekend.
I was all ready to run the 951 but broke a shock bolt off pulling out of the driveway on the way to the race.
Jordan (Stogie25) was nice enough to let me race his 1988 944. He was running the car in STR class. The tires are "all seasons". 205/15 with a sweet 440 tread wear. Made for some slick driving.
This was Jordan's second event ever, so you will hear a little "coaching" in the car.
Since I was not planning on running his car we did not have a great camera mount available. We just strapped my GoPro to the 3rd brake light housing. It really needs to be about 2 feet further forward in the car. Just enough to see the steering wheel and out the window. Next time we will have a better set up.
Here is my first attempt at driving his car.

My 3rd run......gets a touch loose at the end. Silly tires.

great job getting out there and getting experience!
first thing i'd like to say is u should work on your hands. i know autocross courses are tight, but u should try to keep at least one hand on the 9 or 3 positions when wheel is straight. otherwise your hands get lost on where "straight" is.

If you watch my hands they are doing a "hand to had feed" and nearly always in the 9-3 positions up until my sever tail wag on the last run. (which I did get through the gate straight).
Jordan definately needs to work on steering technique. We have talked about it several times. Which is one thing I was going to use the video for. To show him what he was doing in the car.
FWIW I have taught performance driving at many levels since 1990.
