If you need a good coil I have a used one for $20. The price is right even if it just for a spare. Email me if you are interested.

Don't spend 180 on a coil!!! You can get them for 30 bucks or so.

THe one I got from Napa was a generic one.

$180 F'em, ask for a coil for an 87 Rolls Royse and look to see if the connectors are right.

Pretty sure I saw that name in the list of the one I got.

Thanks, I just heard he is doing really well. Sore throat from the ventalator but... doing good

Legoland, thanks for the offer. I think I might look around a bit more though. I will let you know if anything comes up.
Sid, I guess I just have to take it out and go do some matching
Think if it was the coil, it would go from $*#&@*# to working over night?
Thadeus, I kinda figured that was an out in left field price.

Yes. It very well could go back and forth from working to ****e. Based upon how coils are made there could be temporary bad connections internal.

That is the funny part, I didn't drive the Porsche. Ah well... I am sure I will find something.

Sounds like the problem I was having a while back and am still not convinced that the problem won't creep back up on me at the worst opportunity. I would keep looking for a cheap coil, I paid $60 for mine (Bosch new) at Bap/Geon. I think O'Reiley even had a part # for it and could order it for less than $80. Good luck, you and your dad are in our prayers.

Sorry, haven't gotten a change to get on in a bit.
Iloveporsches, I have been wondering the same thing I don't think I will be going to NAPA anymore though. They wanted $36 for an oil filter and my dad's work gets them in for 6 for that price.... ugh.

Schlicten
Dude, that's awesome. I will call you as soon as I get a chance. Thanks
HA... awesome quote. I will remember that.

Kevin, yeah, I am pretty sure that it will be back shortly. I want to try to get some of these things replaced before that time comes. Not easy when it comes to what I should replace first and not knowing what the problem is.... Ah well.. I am sure I will find it some day <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

PS. My dad is doing really good. We had him up walking yesterday. I guess the hardest part for him will be just learning to take it easy for a little while
Thanks for all your thoughts and kind words.

Derrick...that's great news about your dad. Like I said before, that's all that's important now. It was a long time ago but I still think my antics didn't help stop my dad's very sudden demise when I was 16.
