power windows motor removal/installation?
I took off the old motor, it's fried
I got a new-used motor I'm trying to put in, but it only screws into the whole mechanism "so far" before it stops and doesn't want to go in any more
anyone has any pointers on re-installing the motor?
might be easier to switch to all manual windows?

If you bought just the motor, then there is two bolts and 1 large philips screw. It should be as easy as bolt on and done. my guess is you need to have someone wiggle the window up and down so you can get the gears to mesh. Don't worry if the window is partly up or down because there is no limit switches to worry about.
If you got the whole assembly, regulator and all, then you have to work with it to set the upper/lower limit with an allen bolt.

window motor:
so you are saying I should wiggle the glass or something? I'll try that tomorrow and report back
so far, recharged the battery, hooked it up, pushed the power window button to close the window, and the shaft goes in 3/4 of the way in
