Exclamation Passenger side cooling fan issues

Hi there,

I have an 85 na 944. I'm having issues with my passenger side cooling fan. The driver's side fan works both in high speed when running and in low speed when motor is off. The passenger side fan will not come on even when the AC is turned on. The fan motor isn't seized up and I'm not sure what it might be. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks,
luke

First, check the secondary fuse box for a bad fuse. On a series 1 car IIRC it is fuse 5 the A/C condenser fan. Remember that sometimes even if the fuse looks ok it isn't. Second, do an actual test of the fan with a 12 volt source. Knowing the fan isn't seized is not enough. This will eliminate the fan as a problem. Third, check the fan relay for the condenser fan (passenger side fan). It may be toast. All the details for this troubleshoot are at Clark's garage.
