I'm with Perry and JayW. The cap needs to vent in both directions. The vent from the overflow isn't working, so as the engine cools and the coolant contracts it can't pull coolant back in from the overflow tank and just sucks the hose flat instead.

Car is fixed, thanks to you all! I did try the DSM boards, and their chat; it was like I was watching a bad dating channel. No help, no hi, or anything.
So, I had my roomie give me a ride to Autozone in the RX7, and I picked up the new upper hose (the one I told the mechanic to replace, when the radiator was replaced, along with the lower hose), and got the venting radiator cap. I got distilled water, and went and worked on the car.
I got the cap off, and tossed the old one; put the distilled water in, she took nearly a litre! YIKES!
Anyway, put the new cap on, and drove her over to the mechanics, and we opened the hood. Wow, there was a flood! Because we hadn't been able to park it into the garage (due to the damned '50 Pontiac Firechief sitting in her spot), I had no way of noticing any leaks.
So, when the radiator blew a few weeks ago, it back-pressured into the hose, and a tiny hole was now a waterfall, right next to the radiator cap, above the thermostat, next to the head. Must have been gradual, nobody noticed it. When we did the radiator test for an hour back then, it didn't leak.
Whew! Well, the mechanic was sorry, and did the hose and bleed off for free. He makes the majority of his money off of repeat business, and always takes care of me.
So, for my HELL, he gave me two hubcaps I needed on both front tires. Those are not cheap, with the Eagle on them, so I was very happy, they matched the others.
I'll close the thread later, but just wanted you all to know your help was needed, since I am not familiar with the Dual overhead cam, and DSMs.
Thanks again! <img border="0" alt="[blabla]" title="" src="graemlins/a_smil17.gif" />
