just got two head rebuild quotes:
-valves
-new guides
-new seals
-resurfaced

Milledge = $2500

Broadfoot = $190 (using good used valves)

 

$2500...does that come with a happy ending?

 

ive got no idea, but it looks like broadfoot has a shady track record...

 

if u got the time, it's really not that bad a job to rebuild head. only thing u need to send out for is to get it decked at machine shop and checked for leaks. i did mine in my garage with just autozone valve spring compressor

The car ran fine, that is until I took the cam tower off and put it on my 84 that I replaced the head on.

I have a whole 83 parts car with LSD trans etc if you need other parts.

Both cars i bought were on craigslist

Yellow '83 was from a small town outside marshalltown and black 84 was from a local repair shop who said he couldn't "make enough" to justify rebuilding the engine.
