Default How do I get air out of the power steering rack/pump?

Whatever that thing is actually called. I have air in my power steering rack so it's making this weird nose and is sometimes hard to turn the wheel at idling. How am I suppose to get the air out?

You can remove the return line under the reservoir and have someone turn the steering wheel all the way left and right several time. Be sure to add auto trans fluid (ATF) to the reservoir while doing this until all air is out of the system. You must either have a rack leaking or the pump is going out on you. Cheap and easy to rebuild the pump.

Cheers,
Larry
