What do you think of this? There's not many details or decent pictures.

That's the Krikit tensioning tool made by HMC International. $13.90 + $7 shipping.
You can find opinions on it in the archives.

You can buy the KR-1 from your local NAPA store for $9.00 and no shipping expense. I used it on my motor and checked it with the wonder tool, it actually worked pretty close. I am waiting now for a tool that Goodyear sells for their industrial belts, sells for $30.00, will give it a try next.

Do you have a table to convert the Porsche tool numbers to numbers for the NAPA tool?

This Krikit tool keeps coming up like the Lochness monster or a ghost at halloween. The tool can be used on your balance shaft belt and you'll have to guess at a setting of 28 since the guage only goes down to 30. If you have big fingers and sweat is rolling in your eyes you'll never get the same reading twice. BUT..with skill and practice its possible. The guage is nearly impossible to measure the timing belt. Boooooo.
