Question HELP! Who has Replaced Their Dash?

I have an '87 951 with cracked dash(really cracked). The '87 has the airbags. Has anyone pulled the dash and replaced it? I've heard it's a huge job. I'm trying to find detailed instructions on what's involved.

I know there are dash kits out there....but I haven't found any for the airbag dash. If I could find a kit that's really nice, I'd go that route.

Thanks!

I replaced mine about a month ago. I actually molded 2 together to get the best parts from each. here is the thread replace the dash

Thanks for the info Judd....no air bags on your dash, right?

How tough is is to take the steering wheel off?

How long did the project take?

Scott Levy is the dash-master. He has written volumes on the subject. Check www.tech-session.com at Paragon and search dash.

mine did not have airbags. the steering wheel is the type with out an airbag so I am not sure how to take one of those off. I have heard you should unplug the battery and let the capacitors discharge for the airbag at least over night. be careful and have fun!
