I had another thought - dangerous I know - Some tire manufacturers used to make autox compoud (very soft, since you don't have time to put heat into the tires). Is that still the case? If so, you might want to consider that since it looks like you're competitive in autox and DE, by definition, is JUST for fun. Ofcourse that would mean eventually another set of track wheels - better buy her a diamond for xmas

Hoosier makes two tires...
AS03R or somehting and RS03R...Forget the number exactly, bit the "A" is for autocross for exaclt the reason Stef said and it not designed for track duty. The "R" is the road race track tire.

One thing I might add about tire profiles...
Road and Track had an article months (possibly a year) ago testing out the ability of the same tire with different profile sizes. You know what they found out? They found that the ideal tire profile for most track situations is around a 45 series. Most of the time, going any lower than that resulted in a loss in traction
