The rest of the cars aren't quite Porsches, but they are pretty nice cars with very good reproduction badges.

What? What!!??

Better sell your car! You, you, argghhh!
Porsche made the air cooled 911 until the 993 production model. Have you driven a 964 or a 993 lately? You do not feel those cars are true 911s?

That's it, I wasted to many words on this. Not worth it.

Going back to work on my front engine, water cooled, PORSCHE!!

Porsche is definitely planning releasing a front engined car sometime around 2006-2007. It is a 928 derivative with a V8 Twin Turbo motor. The motor is going to be based off that of the Cayenne which I believe is now on the streets if I'm not mistaken I look forward to seeing the new 928..i just hope that the designer of the 2002 911's headlights doesn't design that car.

Where does this come from? I've heard that before.
But the owners manual for my 88 924 clearly lists the horsepower as 158@5900 rpm/ 155 ft lb@4500 rpm

Is my owners manual lying?

It comes from Europe.
The Euro 944 had 163 Hp
The Euro/USA 924S had 150 hp... therefore detuned.
All 944/924S in 1988 were 158 hp. The euro guys were pissed that they lost 5 hp.

PS... I run a 87 924S motor in my 84 944 race car. On the track it does not look detuned to me.

I don't know what you guys are crying about. If it's a Porsche I love it and I'll drive it. As long as it has a Porsche badge on it I still flash it a thumbs up when I drive by. Or get a huge grin on my face when I stomp on the accelerator whether it's a 1958 356, or a 2002 twin turbocharged Cayenne. Just something about the marque and the fact that Porsche is the #1 automotive manufacturer in the world in terms of profits...

Now there's something to ponder. A business expanding it's business and it's product line to make more money and stay independent. So they don't have another early 90's episode. They sure aren't Ferrari relying on another business to maintain theirs, and not like Chevy begging for business (please buy our cars... you'll wish you hadn't in three years... but).

Hate me if you must. But a Porsche is a Porsche. Whether it's a watercooled 944na or a tail heavy aircooled 911.(Both cars I have had the pleasure of driving). We know that they all could win the 24 hours of LeMans!!! Porsches are known for endurance/reliability/handling characteristics.

Anyway that's my opinion...

In addition to the 928 revisited. There is another car on the drawing board. It will slot in underneath the Boxster and compete with the BMW Z1 (baby Bimmer). There is a sketch of it in the new Road and Track. It will be front engined and rear wheel drive. The sketch that I saw makes it look like a Golf with a Boxster front clip. Very interesting concept.
