Just curious but is there really a difference when you index using the inner vs outer torsion splines? meaning if you pull the bar from the torsion assembly vs moving it in the spring plate ?

I'm "hoping" my camber is reall off from L to R side and that is causing my difference in ride height (around 1/4 inch to 1.2 inch, yeah I need a more accurate way to measure then eyeball). I reset the spring plates on both sides to 'middle road' and both sides were moved up 2 notches from their original location. I suppose I could put an angle gauge on the spring plates and use that for comparison sake.

Any words of wisdom ?

there's diff number of splines on inner vs outer.

if i remember correctly, 1 inner splines = 9deg vs 1 outer spline= 8.8 or so.

9 deg approximates about 2.6" drop.

This DIY assumes that you take your entire rear suspension out of the car.

"9) Pull rear suspension as assembly (torsion bars and trailing arms together)
10) Set this assembly on level ground with bars unloaded. (See pic below)"

I think there's a better one out there (clarks-garage?) that leaves the suspension on the car.

Found it, I think I need to move one tooth on each of the t bar on the high side of the car..

Quote from clarks garage""
If we leave the spring plate and chassis mount attached to the outer end of the torsion bar and rotate the inner end of the bar one spline in the counter-clockwise direction, it will raise the end of the spring plate. This will lower the ride height of the car by 2.58". Then if we leave the inner end fixed in the torsion tube and rotate the spring plate and chassis mount one spline in the clockwise direction it will lower the end of the spring plate and raise the ride height of the car by 2.35". The net result will be that the car is 0.23" lower (or approximately 6mm).

""

guess i should have looked there in the first place..

yea when I did mine, i did not drop the suspension. for a 1 inner-spline drop, u can just put the spring plate back in. for 2 inner spline drop which is what I did, you need to unbolt the control arm's inner front bolt from the torsion bar carrier tube.

I'll need to do this soon... I always think about cutting holes in the sides of the car like a 356 or 901...
