Post TDC sensor??

I saw this auction on ebay for a TDC sensor...

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409233604&category=6770" target="_blank">http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2409233604&category=6770</a>

Does my 1984 have one? I'm pretty sure some idiot who owned the car before me put the flywheel on about 60 degrees off from where it is supposed to be and my car idles like it has a V-8 under the hood...

You can get these a lot cheaper used/good on eBay. I never bought anything from Partwerks and don't know if they are popular...they are not known for bargins.

Yeah, your 944 has one of these but I doubt a new one would effect your idle description.

That sensor is for diagnostics only. It is not connected to anything.

It outputs a signal to indicate TDC, and also can be used as an external TACH.

Again, it would not cause a running issue with your car because it is not an "active" sensor.

The TDC sensor on our car actually IS about 60-degrees before TDC. This is to allow the computer to have advanced ignition timing before TDC.

hmmm, that's interesting and good to know.

Tim...why not start a new thread about your idle problem?
