I like the product and buy being a perferred customer I get a better deal given how much oil run though on my track car. I don't use AMSOIL in any street cars. I feel it is too expensive. However for race car given how hard I drive that I am ok with extra expense. I call it insurance.

Oh...

There is this book out that is great read. It will transform you life even more than than the oil. Hey we all want salvation right?....

Royal Purple to me is just a marketing ploy... Just an ok product that has been dressed up...

Bob the oil guy is a great place to get straight answers on just about any lube on the market.

I use Amsoil/Redline/Total(Elf) for years, all with great results. I do not have any UOA's yet for the 924s. But when I do, I will be happy to post up.

Yeah I had a look there last night and did a search under 944 turbo. All I could see were guys that didn't own them saying we should all be using M1 0w/40 or some rubbish. Oh well, more motors to repair due to premature wear and failures keep the mechanics fed.

The basic problem with older cars is that the only official "manufacturer" recommendations are 20+ years old, and you'd love to know what the manufacturer would say TODAY about what to use in your 20+ year old car. Nobody collects enough data on engine wear and failure correlated to oil brand/type, so you end up swayed by anecdotes.

I think it's safe to say that a ZDDP oil is a good idea, and older engines with wider build tolerances, run on track, need the higher viscosities.
