Default Something Broke Off Again!

Hello All,

While replacing vacuum hoses this ol dried up piece broke off.
Anyone know if the car is drivable to locate a replacement part?

Looks like you will have a vacuum leak, and at the brake booster no less. If your not turbo, then plug it off with some duct tape or sufficient. The car will not run/idle very nicely with a vacuum leak.

I think that is a valve for the AC/heater. I just bought the part at Pelican for my car. Mine was half way on and someone had taped it back on. Car seemed to run just fine with it like that.

Yes thats the outlet for the check valve for the heater valve, you can plug it to just drive, you will have full heat on until you get it fixed.

Other than creating a massive vacuum leak at the brake booster I dont see a problem. Oh! there is that whole stopping thing! Maybe test drive it in a parking lot first and be sure you have sufficient braking power before taking her on the road.

The part in the second image is what broke off the brake booster while replacing vacuum hoses.

Thanks as always for the super quick responses!

Get a pick or scribe and clean out the broken part in the hole. If some tiny parts fall in the booster it's ok. Then get a plastic vacuum fitting that fits and stick it in the hole and re-attach your check valve. No big deal.
