Default 1990 S2 2,200rpm shake

I just noticed that my S2 shakes a bit when in Neutral and only around 2,200rpms. It's smooth before and after that.
Some things you should know before guessing the problem...
New motor mounts.
New cap, rotor and wires.
Spark plugs are fairly new.
I've barely driven the car in the past year. I just start it up once in a while and maybe drive it a few miles. Haven't gotten the cobwebs out in a while.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sounds like your motor mounts are bad or there the cheap ome not OEM!

Also if you had a water pump and belt job recently one of the balance shafts could be 180 out!

Motor mounts are OEM and I changed them myself. Pretty sure they're in there good and tight.
Haven't had the belts done since I got the car, so they're ready for a set. Honestly I just noticed the shake recently but it could have been there all this time. It's a subtle shake only noticeable in neutral at 2,200rpm, but still bothering me. Balance shaft out 180.... feel it only at 2,200 rpms??

Thats correct if one of the balance shafts are out 180 it will shake at a certain RPM depending on which one dictates what RPM

Thanks. I'll look into that. Only God knows who did the belts last time. I shouldn't have waited this long to change either.

Its very easy to get one of the balance shafts 180 off when re-installing the woodruff ket and gear onto shaft! Check out clarks garage for more info or do a search to find a very good write up with pictures!

Forgot to mention make sure you have the right length hardware screwed into your motor mounds and that they are all tight its easy to bottom out a long bolt before it tightens up the mount to engine mount! Then it creates a vibration but usually under all RPM's

OK, so I just did the belts in the S2. I made sure the balance shafts are right; lower shaft shows 0 through rectangular hole and top shaft shows 0 through round hole. I'm thinking it could be fuel injectors could use a cleaning. Time for Witchhunter perhaps. I have a set of 951 injectors laying around that I could use to try to find the cause but those arent interchangable with S2 injectors right? Any other ideas? I'd call the symptom more of an engine hop than a vibration at 2,200rps. Its subtle but bugging me. Most people wouldn't notice it unless you slowly went through the RMP range in neutral. Otherwise the car runs perfectly.
