Post Importance of Seal Replacement? (Cross Post)

Also posted on the "944 & 944S2" forum

I am about to do the 90K maintenance work – belts, rollers, water pump and possibly the seals.

I had planned on doing the seals, but in reading the experiences of fellow listers, I am having second thoughts.

The questions:
How important is to replace non-leaking seals at 90,000 miles?

Is there a Porsche scheduled replacement for the seals, as there is with the timing belts?

Thanks in advance

Well, if it's not leaking now, it will leak soon. It's not that tough to do it now while you're in there. It depends on you. If it starts leaking in 5 k miles then you'll have to do all the work over again. I do seals each time I do belts, since I'm right there.... It's cheap insurance, and I like a nice clean no leaks engine!

Dal.
