83' 944 oxygen sensor replacement. ECU reset?

Default 83' 944 oxygen sensor replacement. ECU reset?

does the ECU have to be reset on my 83' 944 if i replace the 02 sensor?

The ECU (DME we call it) is too dumb to know if the O2 Sensor is even in the car. If it gets a single it will use it. If it does not get a n O2 single the car will run just fine. Emissions may not work perfect and it may use more fuel, but the car will still make power.

So in short No.

i don't even have the o2 sensor hooked up on my car...and it runs just fine

Just to confirm - the DME does not have any non-volatile memory. So there is no need to 'reset' anything. The DME is automatically 'reset' each time you turn off the car.
