Porsche did make a set of roof racks for skis if you look at early Euro brochures.
I'd love to be able to fit a kayak to my S2 but haven'y found a roof rack or pattern to copy yet.

mmm looks like Pelican have a template

Thule might be able to supply one

I've put two of Gene Jensen's old OC-1 Flatwater solo race boats on top (USCA Competition Cruisers, 16 feet). Also have put on a Tandem OC-2 Flatwater boat (again one of Gene's old 18.5 foot USCA Competition Cruiser)... Rides just fine.

In fact, we found that a pair of the solo comp/cruisers on our 1980 Toyota SR5 Liftback Coupe actually increased mpg by 1-1.5 mpg. And... a 16 foot Grumman Whitewater canoe (boom-a-lum) on a 10 foot long Honda 600 Sport Coupe actually improved the aerodynamics such that we no longer suffered from rough buffetting when meeting a tractor trailer truck head on on a two-lane road.

I can't testify that the Competition Cruisers enhance the performance of the 944S, but it would be interesting to see some wind tunnel tests of various cars and various high performance canoes on top!

Yakima or Thule should have something that'll work. I was looking into putting a rack on the 968 and they did have the mount kits (feet) for it.

Thule fit kits are NLA from Thule, but I'm pretty sure I have one, let me know if you are interested.
