Default 944 s2 recurring water pump noise?

1989 Porsche 944 S2

120000 kms- the timing belt/waterpump, all pulleys were replaced on my car.

134000 kms (2 years later) - i hear a light whurring /bearing noise that occurs at low speeds and on start up coming from timing belt area. shop diagnosis is water pump and timing belt was slightly worn on back so i replace everything again. the mechanic found some washers spacing out one of the pulleys and removed them, fitting a new, proper porsche part numbered pulley. My car is a Japanese import if that helps any...

136500 kms- noise is back... any ideas?

i'm pretty frustrated and there is other things i'd like to get fixed on my car instead of constantly replacing timing belt and associated parts haha

Any insight? Thanks

There are quite a few pulleys behind that cover - did you replace them all when you say you replaced "everything"?

Jap import won't make any difference in that regard - it will still be the M44.41 engine. The only difference I am aware of for the japanese models is an extra temp sensor on the catalytic converter and possibly lower temperature ranges for the thermostat / rad fan switch / intake manifold temp sensor

If the timing belt was tensioned overly tight it could result in early failure of pump and/or rollers.
