Travis,
I too would be very interested in seats with the Ultrasuede centers (all black). Please let me know on the cost and take pictures if you make ones for Kevin.

They are the same ones that inland imports offers.

Does anyone sell the seat cushion 'forms' for the 944 seats? If I were to recover the seats, I would definitely rebuild the seat's shape back to normal. I have a 944S2 Cab, and the elements tend to dry rot the seat cushions. I had to remove both seats last year and add some upolestery pile underneath the seats between the cushion foam and the springs in order to get some shape back to the seat.

Ok, the word is in on the Ultrasuede. You buy the material and I can get it done. If you like, you can tell me where to order the Ultrasuede you want, tack the cost of it with shipping onto the cost of the seats and I will order it.
This is how I want to do it at least for the first few sets like that. If it works out good than maybe I will offer it as a option but thats how it has to be for now.
email me when you source the materials and we will get the ball rolling on this.

edit: check out my post count ~911

Thumbs up

Hey Guys, Having been in the upholstery biz for over a dozen years, Ultrasuede is the same thing as Alcantara, FWIW. Its great stuff, tuff and durable and $$$$! But worth it. A lot of high end cars use it. Makes for a grippy seat also. Lazarro86'951 <img border="0" alt="[bigbye]" title="" src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" />

Travis, If you can find out how much "In yards" this application will need for the centers. Also while you are taking ideas.. Can the stitching on the seats be done in red? That would be sweet!!

I am going to say 5 yards to be on the safe side (will return any additional material with your seat kits). Red stiching for an additional $20 (setup and cost).

Don't need (want?) to do a complete recover, but is there any sort of patch kit available for the bolsters that get worn? I had the same prob in a Conquest TSi, and my '86 944 has a small chunk missing and worn (both were that way when I bought them, it's not my a$$!).

Surrrrely there's a patch kit, right? I don't need (can't afford) total authenticity at this point of my 944 ownership...

TIA

Goody

The best (only) way to fix just the bolsters is to go to a upholstery shop and get a quote. If they can match the original material that would be the best way to go for just a bolster.

Cool

Travis, I will look into the Ultrasuede prices, I do not think 5 yards will be necessary maybe 2-3 I would think but who knows for sure. I will get back to you on this, also can you post some pics of this kit in-car. Thanks!

Travis, is this german or domestic vinyl. Do you have any samples of the material. I am having trouble believing that vinyl will look as good as the factory leather sport seats. Of course I could be wrong. I just wish I could see them installed.

If you look back a few posts, rfuerst has the same set. As far as I know he is unbiased so you can ask him if you like. If you buy a set you WILL be pleased with them.
