Thanks for the insight Mike.

It is just some options I am looking to add to my line. I agree with your view on too many adjustments. I like some adjustability....maybe not as much as comes on these, but perhaps I would play with them more

No worries. Take it as opinion rather than insight, however suspension design and analysis is one of my interests.

It's amazing how much difference 10mm of ride height makes at the front, simply due to the change in roll couple.

you can't lower the front without also lowering the rear. The cars run best at about level front to rear.

Well that's a lie, I parked it in spectator parking and watched some guys at VIR about 3 weeks ago. Maroon turbo with number 93 on the side.
i would not put the system you are describing on my 944. what you are doing is form over function.

stock springs, or stock springs from a 951, a pair of stiffer sway bars (the factory engineers knew what they were doing), and a set of konis all around, and a corner balance via the eccentrics. use the eccentrics to improve objective handling, not improve subjective looks. your DD will transform instantly into a street-DE machine and you will be very happy.

the botched up system you proposed is a recipe for disaster. remember the key to a 944 is balance. the car left the factory with balance not seen on other cars before or after. dont screw that balance up to look cool.

A little late to this party, but to chime in on a couple of things. Firstly, while the KYB stuff are a decent bargain for a street car, I've read multiple reports of them wearing early. I've experienced this to a certain extent on one of my cars...ride is still decent, but the rears seem to bottom out, and they've only been on the car for 4 years and less than 20K miles. It's not a huge deal because it's a daily driver, but by the same token, the car was not abused or tracked, so a bit disappointed in the life-expectancy.

I recently put Bilstein HDs on all four corners of one of my 931s and I'm very pleased with both the firmness and the ride. Not too harsh at all, even on the early spring horror called Michigan roads. I'm surprised that there weren't more comments in this threads about the Bilstein HDs. While the Konis are definitely a good choice for the non-rebuildable late 944 front struts, I've found the Bilsteins to be unbeatable in terms of bang-for-the-buck.

I think most people end up buying konis via paragons sale if they are in bilstein territory, its really not that much more and that adjustment **** has a sexy allure. That said, my dad has HD's on his S2 and they work well.

I dont think your dad has bilsteins on his S2. this is from shox.com. I had to buy the Konis in 02 because my choices for a non coilover were koni hacksaws or Boge/Sachs

I would certainly like to know if the Bilstein inserts (30-0104) can be fitted to the sealed struts. I believe someone said they could.

Edit: The P30-0040 is listed as the insert for 944S and S2
