Default 944 Tinting

Does anyone in the Atlanta area know of a good place that has experience tinting a 944 and does a good job? I know the rear hatch glass is a known issue with tinting and many places have a lot of trouble with it. Thanks in advance.

I had my windows tinted at Sound Pro in Conyers. I could not fine my invoice but I think it was about $200. They did a good job with the process. Especially the back window. The car is currently out for fresh paint. Just a couple of pic to show the results.

I'd call around for experience on a 944... I had mine done and the hatch took hours to get right... and it is still an 8/10 job.

Thanks guys. I called a place up by the mall of Georgia called Solar Eclipse Window Tinting. They just did two 944's. They did say that they would have to do the rear glass in two pieces. My understanding is that is pretty normal. Is that correct? These guys were recommended to me by a friend who had their Audi and VW done there and they both look nice.

Call around. People in the business know the car and they all say that it is THE hardest car to tint.

I called TONS of places and was quoted anywhere from $200 - $600. I took it to the $200 place. Kid wanted to challenge and spent all day on it. He wasted like 4 sheets of tinting on the back window, but finally got it done with a single piece. Many places use 2 or 3 sheets.

He did a pretty good job but it's not perfect. There are some tiny crinkles in the back window on the radius of the curve but it sure is better than the old half scraped out tint that came with the car. Made the car look 10x better.

Yeah, I called around as well and many places wouldn't even touch the car. A buddy of mine tried to get his tinted this past weekend, and after six hours the rear hatch window was still not done. They had to order more film. Personally, I don't care if it is done in one or two pieces as long as it looks good and protects the interior of the car. The place I called quoted me $180 and has recently done two 944's and I think I can get a $20 off coupon. I think they use pretty good 3M films too.
