Post no spill oil filter - is oil supposed to still be in housing?

i just got my oil filter off.. not one spill.. i thought it would be a crazy mess...

but heres my question
theres still a ton of oil in that little housing that it screws in to... why? shouldnt it have drained? should i leave it or suck it out with a straw or what? lol.. seems weird that it didnt drain but all the rest did...

what to do? just leave it?

I'm inclined to see if you can suck it out with a straw... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Leave it - there's more inside the engine that's also old - no worries.
