Question How to Clean Dirty Valves? PICS

After taking the manifold off, I saw the build-up on the (intake?) valves. Can someone recommend a way to clean them up? Can I spray some carb cleaner into the engine at them, or would that hurt the motor?

Thanks

If you still have the cylinder head on and don't want to remove it. I would use carb cleaner and a small toothbrush to knock some of that stuff off. Make sure the valve is closed when you hose it to minimize the amount of carb cleaner seeping into the motor(hopefully none will get in there). Then I would use a small vacuum attachment and suck the liquid/carbon out of the holes. You really don't want to flood a cylinder with carb cleaner as that will destroy the motor. Use as little carb cleaner as possible is my recommendation.
