Wink

Wouldn't it be weird if you were walking around a J-yard and you found a car exactly like your first one.. and it still ran and you could buy it back for like $500 or something.. and later you found out it really WAS your first car? And your golf shoes were still in the back!!!! WOW..that would be weird!!

Damn those looked in good shape and I could use them... However, got to finance some laptop stuff, a trip to Montreal and other stuff.

Those wheels are in much better shape than mine. ans at 25 a pop even with shipping would be worth it.

Maybe if your headed back in a month or so. If not, then an iceshark kit.

I am going to be in Birmingham next Tuesday and Wednesday. I'd sure love to poke around that salvage yard for a few minutes. Do you mind giving me the info? You can email me privately if you don't want to give up your secrets publically!

You've found the legendary 944 burial grounds, as mythologized in 'Tarzan the Porsche Man.'

This is why one never finds a dead 944 on the street - the secret graveyard of the 944.

A 944 can always tell when death is coming for it. And when it hears the call, there's a secret place to which it wanders. A place where it can lay its bones with its ancestors. A place of rest.

"A Rolls-Royce never breaks down, it only fails to proceed." - Read that in my grandfathers Silver Shadow II hand book. That was one awesome car to drive around in even though I didn't have a license at the time (don't tell anyone)..

I thought it was the same with Porsches..

http://www.autotechplus.com/

Saw a lot of 944's walking around this graveyard.
Some still in pretty good shape, others, well....
they were fond memories for someone at some point.

They are southeast of Pittsburgh.

Does anyone know of a junkyard in upstate South Carolina that has a number of late-model Porsche 944s?

I would absolutely DIG a spare set of 15" early offset PD's for 25$ each.. it would give me a spare set to run on during the "wheel refinishing" project..
Please e-mail me and let me know the "secret" location!!!!
