Carbon Fiber vynil dash
Hi Folks,
Don't know if anyone else has already done this - I did a search and couldn't find something similar posted, so I thought some might be interested. I used 3M's Di-Noc carbon vynil applied to the centre dash trim and centre console. I still have to finish the cowel round the ignition, but need another piece of trim as the existing piece has the immobiliser glued into it and I want to relocate it.
All pieces were removed from the car before applying the vynil. The rear door edges which were already black got the same treatment
The original reason for doing this was to cover the flimsy trim round the heater controls which was snapped in 2 places..
I'm really pleased with the effect as I think it's quite discreet and suits this interior colour combo. What do you reckon ?

Nice work.
But jageng.com makes a decent CF kit.

Checked their price....$274 for their CF offering
This is a completely different material altogether which is used for vehicle wrapping. Look at the Jageng templates - take the window switch covers. Theirs merely cover the surface and does not wrap the 3 sides.
Also look at the cut outs round the main light switch and the ignition. It only covers the flat surface and not into the concave part which you can with the 3M material. As a result, the Jageng kit will always look like stuck on material....IMHO
You might like to know that the cost of the 3M vinyl to do this with some left over was approx $20. I also did some old headlight covers which have been wrapped right round the edges.
Might look nice on a black car with the badge panel done as well (also acts as very effective stone chip film and much easier to apply than the clear paint protection film - just an idea.

I noticed your cracked trim piece which goes on the climate control unit - how did you fix that?

It's the best material I've seen as well - also not normally a fan of this kind of thing....you need to use it sparingly - oh and I did this bit too...
Marcquito - re the cracked trim....after I removed it, I first glued it with Super Glue and then just covered it the same as the other pieces. Future tip for removal....use a credit card rather than flat screwdriver - far less chance of snapping it!
