Default DIY - how to change water pump (and belts)

I have to fix a leaky water pump, so I thought that while I did it, I'd take some video and make a tutorial.

Disassembly part 1:

Disassembly part 2:

Reassembly videos will come later (maybe in 2 weeks).

Nice work! This would be very handy/informative for someone who has never tackled the job before.

Yeah - that was my thought... It might give someone the confidence to do the job himself. These cars only depreciate, but labor rates stay the same (or go up).

Very nice.... but you forgot 2 things.

1. How many beers were killed during the filming of that? No 944 maintenance of any kind is complete without beer.

2. You forgot to show how to beat the inside belt cover off with a hammer, and run the cool "coverless" way

(also, far to few curse words were used, and I see NO blood..... what kind of mechanic are you?!?!)

This is fantastic... I am looking at getting a 944 and that will be the first thing I have to do it gave me a much better idea of what it is going to entail

Excellent Van. Clear video images and nice clear commentary.
20 years ago I'd have enjoyed the job but now I'd really dread it.

As I am approaching this job myself, you're timing is excellent.

Thank you!

As always, nice work Van.

I can't believe I'm the one offering a tool instead of the other way around (), but if you want to use the Arnworks (sp?) timing belt tools I can bring em by for ya - along with your expansion tank and some beer!

Glad you like it!

(Hopefully my car won't need a clutch for a while...)
