ok, my sun roof doesnt work, i didnt realy care until this past sat. when i used the wrench for the motor to "manualy" open it.... i took it off for a picture and then put it back on.... it now is beutiful out and i want to take it off again but im tired of doing it manualy...

my question to you guys is, what goes wrong with these setups most often. i know its not the gears or i wouldn't have been able to open it this past weekend. i see that it uses a relay and not a fuse and their is no response at all when i use the switch...

im thinking its simply the motor but i want some input first...

Often the root cause is the microswitch in the headliner that the roof uses to signal that it's open/closed.

did you check the relay?

 

i didnt use the multimeter yet but i did take the case off the relay and it all looked ok but with that you really never know.... im at work right now but i think im going to take a closer look when i im out..... im just trying to get opinions.....

 

ok, i just took anothrt gander at it and i manualy made it open in the up position and hit the button to close it and it closed.... but, it wont open or unlock? i took the relay out to look at it again and i see a black spot on the board.... im asuming its bad so i am now trying to fogure out how to jump it temporarily to see if it all still works.... it hasnt worked since i purchased the car....

anyone have a diagram or something... im currently searching
