Question tach won't work on 968/944s engine swap

I recently completed an 968 engine sawp into my 87 944S. I had a heck of a time getting it to fire up. Many people here of the forum offered very helpfull sugestions and I appreciate it. It end up my problem was in the wiring for the alarm.

Now my problem is that it starts and runs fine, but the Tach is not working, any experience here with that problem?
Thanks

What flywheel and pressure plate are you using, if you don't mind me asking? Are they the 968 ones, or did you find a way to make the 944 ones work?

TACH.. not speedo guys.

IIRC, the tach is driven by the DME. Since you have swapped DME's, you probably have a wiring conflict. I would check the diagrams for the 968 and re-trace your wires. They probably have a diffrent pinout.

The 968 reads the speedo and odometer off the ABS computer. The 944's read from the tranny but this isn't related to those. The tach has to do with triggers on the flywheel so I'm also curious which clutch/flywheel assemblies he's using.
