so finally got around to fitting the sunroof delete roof skin. I removed all the spot welds on the old and new roof. I took the old roof off no problems as I did not need to be delicate with it. The new roof skin however is another matter. It is seperated everywhere apart from the 2 from corners where is seems to be glued between the roof skin and the roof structure. I have tried to be gentle but to no avail. IT WILL NOT SEPERATE
anyone done this before? second picture gives you an idea of where I am trying to seperate the panel

I have a sunroof delete 924 that I want to use as a transplant to a later 944. Do you know if the early roof skin will work for the later cars? Wish I could help you out here but it is uncharted rerritory for me also. If it seems glued maybe a heat gun would help??

I just used a 924 for a sunroof delete. Dan is right that where it meets the windshield is different. I had a section overcut for the size of the sunroof and welded it in. Had a good body shop in Chicago do it and they did an amazing job. They used very very little body filler and when you look at it from the inside it looks factory and the sunroof channels look like they are support brackets. All in all it was about $600-700 in labor.

Dan something you might want to try if you have a saw zall. I had my windshield replaced the other day and they had this nice little attachment that went on a saw zall that looked like a putty knife. It was sharp on the end and cut through things without messing up the metal. If there is adhesive or the slight remains of a weld it will probably cut through it to break it free. Just a thought
