Pioneer makes some that fit. I don't know the model number though, but I think the dimensions are 5x3"

I don't think any of the Pioneer's fit the front. I've tried them all. Clarks Garage has a list of front speakers that fit but all are old. I found a source for one of the old models in the UK and have a set on the way. I'll post once I receive them but Clarks says they are an exact fit so I'm hopeful.

Speaker size is 4x6 front and rear. You can use just about any 4x6 speaker for the rear but the fronts have to be shallow and have a flush front. Because 4x6 speakers are not that popular there are not that many to choose from. What I did for the front is buy 4 inch round speakers because there is a greater selection then bought an adapter plate that makes a 4 inch speaker fit into a 4x6 hole.

I just replaced my speakers - I couldn't find any 4x6's shallow enough at the front. Now I see those Pioneers, I think I got those once before for a 924 a few years ago. This time around I got some JVC speakers, I simply got some longer screws and screwed the grilles back over speakers, regardless of the gap. They're not that noticable when they go back in. I figured if I was really worried about it, I'd make some spacers out of wood or something.

Try searching this and the 944 Turbo sections. I posted a list not too long ago of speakers that should fit in the doors.

I just installed these speaker in my 1987. I had to do some slight trimming of the speaker grills but they fit just fine.

The tweeters are flush on the ones that I just picked up. Maybe they changed their design. I had to dremmel the back of the speaker grills for them to fit in the door flush.
