KW Coilover Information Needed!

I just put in an order for KW V3's for my S2 conversion into an early '83.
I did some shopping around and found that the UK had the best offers. As I am buying from Australia - local price was AU$4500. I ended up getting them for AU$2100 landed. I also managed to avoid paying taxes when importing into Oz due to low value declaration.
I got them from ruderacing.co.uk for 1300pounds (excl. VAT) so roughly US$1950. The company owner also drives a 944 and was extremely helpful.

They are going into an early but with all suspension being changed over to later model S2.
Will run torsion bars as spring rates coming are the KW spec. Will play with those things later on.

I don't think you should pursue the low ball price either. Not ethical nor prudent.

Well done. Put $50 per week away and you'll have them in no time. Great product.

No they would not fit without modification. Search early vs. late suspension, you should find what you need. The KW set fits all Turbo applications, and all N/A cars built '87 and later. However, you can swap out or modify your existing suspension to fit if you want the v3's that bad.

There's just one part that's a bit confusing, which is the fitting all turbo applications. 86 had early offset as well, so would this not fit on an 86 turbo? I roamed around the kw website and put the specs to a 1986 944 and they showed the variant 3 and club sports. So I'm still pretty confused. Thanks for the answer still hopefully it was just a mistake on kw's website.

Unfortunately that isn't the case.
The struts do not affect offset. For the Turbo model, they had beefier struts to handle the greater performance of the car, and were used in 1986 and later. These weren't implemented on N/A cars until '87.
Unless modified, your N/A car will not fit the KW struts. This thread should give you an idea of what's going on - your 85.5 is the same as an 86 suspension-wise. https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-86-951-a.html
Edit: Looks like the rears won't fit either - https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...uspension.htmlE
