LOWERING THE FRONT OF EARLY 85
Just put on a set of welt. 250# springs in front and new boge gas struts. The springs claim a drop of about 1.25 inches or so but my ride height is the same. Would you cut half a round out of the springs to get some more drop?

I wouldn't, but that is me. Are they progressive springs? IMO If you are going to do that, just put the old springs back in and adjust accordingly with those. If you cut these springs, they will lose some of their integrity(for lack of a better word )

It's entirely possible that your car was already lower with age/wear. Also, as Tifo suggests, it takes some effort to "settle" the suspension.
You should never cut springs.
Good Luck!

1. Calm down.
2. Take off the "caps lock".
3. Go for a drive. They probably will settle. (have you driven it yet?)
Seriously, everytime I have my car up on jackstands working on it, when I drop it down it looks like a "high-roller" until I drive it for a few minutes to settle things in.
Give those new springs and struts a chance.
