Default starnge problem...clutch help!

I recently put in a clutch and am having an issue with the clutch pedal...It only pushes down half way before it bottoms out...stops pretty abruptly. Slave cylinder is brand new...This is on a 2.7 in a 1986 chassis. I used a bellhousing from a 2.5, Fidanza AL flywheel, clucthnet 6 puck racing disc. Any guesses??

Remove the slave cylinder and make sure that the clutch release fork moves all the way forward. If not, that is your problem. If it does, check the pedal cluster, master cylinder and slave cylinder.

Did you replace the clutch guide tube?

Looking at the PET, the bell housing is the same number.

What pressure plate did you use? There are different numbers for specific models. I do not know what is different.

How much distance do you have between the bell housing and the fork?

The new racing disc & PP may have changed the fork alignment

Solved! The Clutchnet racing disc was too thick. It measures 8.8 MM verus 8 MM for a stock Sachs unit...Swapped it out and problem solved.

I noticed the same thickness issue with the "Italian" disk I purchased from Vertex (also 944online now).
It is slightly thicker. I worked around the clutch pedal issue. After 9 months of daily driver, the pad/plate material compressed/wore slightly and now it feels normal.

Did you report this to Clutchnet? They seem real responsive to feedback.

I also used a Clutchnet disc, not the racing model, on a 84 NA, and the clutch fork would go all the way forward to where it "almost" hit the front edge of the inspection hole. It worked fine but the PP didn't "throw over" like a normal clutch, it was totally linear in feel. Those who dislike the Sachs clutches' high engagement point should check into these discs, mine was right in the middle of travel.
