Looks great. Did you clear it as well?

Those all look great, I really should go and paint mine now, I think it's crazy to pay 300+ for painted caps.

Congratulations. I did mine too when I refinished my PD's. But I used those paint pens they sell at Walmart. They were cheap and very easy to use, very fast - hey, even I managed to make them look good! Then I sprayed the same clear coat over them that I used over my PD's and they came out great - just like yours. So far the gold hasn't faded or started to look tarnished.

Are you going to put a clear lacquer on top? And if so, what will you use?

I had my caps hand painted about a year ago. Some wheel cleaner ate off the clear lacquer and they have grown cloudy. Anyone have suggestions on the right lacquer for the job?

First,y ou aren't using "lacquer". No one uses true lacquer anymore, it is not durable and is subject to yellowing and fading. Use a clear from say Rustoleum - it's what I used. But the products from Krylon or Duplicolor would probably work just as well. If yours look faded they probably need refinishing. If in fact real lacquer WAS used...then you'll definitely have to refinish them, or lightly scuff and recoat with true lacquer...though I wouldn't.

Thanks.... It probably was not lacquer on my caps, but that's what someone called it. Whatever it was, my heavy duty wheel cleaner took it right off! I will look for the clear.
