Maybe the same for M coupe?

Hey guys,
First, thanks everyone for the compliments. I'll try to go in order and answer your questions.

nick,
The big thing between the 944 and the M Coupe is the torque. It's got gobbs of it and it is everywhere. It puts you back in the seat if you step on it from the interstate in 5th gear. One problem I have encountered is the fact that it is so damn quiet. You can't hardly hear anything, exhaust is a must. The suspension is a little on the soft side, but that's comparing it to my 944 with Konis/Welt. Also it has alot of squat/dive/bodyroll; actually way more than I expected, but it's weird b/c even though it has alot of roll, it sticks like glue. And the turn in is awesome. Compared to a 951, I can't really say. I have only riden in a few of them and they all had chips. From the highway, the 951 w/ chips would probably walk away from it pretty easily, but from stoplight to stoplight around town, it'd be a good race. And finally, yes you will be jealous. Hehe.

kgain968,
The color is Artic Silver and it has the silver/black combo for the interior. The interior is REALLY nice, and the seats are really supportive. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow so you can see the interior. And that white strip thingy on the middle of the hood is just the reflection of my basketball goal. The electronic speed limiter can be disabled by any kind of ECU upgrade (Dinan, JC, etc..) But I have heard that the actual cut-off is a bit higher than the advertised 137, like around 150.

Ahmet,
Bring it, hoe.

Stephan,
You know how I feel about you. (***)

Ben Plaisted,
Nice doubt post. j/k

To the people who think it's ugly: That's why I got it. So love it, some hate it. It's something different and there are only three in my area. I think it's ugly too, but in a sexy kinda way. I grows on you over time though.

And to all the people that said it is a 'clown shoe' or 'the boot'; the PC term is PhallicMobile. I'd appreciate it if you use that instead.

Bring it hoe? Top speed 137, 240lbs of torque? P-f'kin lease! Curb weight 3150? You know what, I'm game. I will make sure I get in touch w/you next time I plan a trip up north (mid/late may is what it looks like right now), and I will stop by and spank you.

I don't love the car, I don't hate it either... I kinda like it. One thing I do specifically like is the fact that it's a hardcore car and nobody buys them for the bling factor.

Hey Purv944,

Let me know what the VIN is and I will try to dig you up some more manufacturing data. Since I look at this information all day, I may be able to tell you when it was produced and get alot of the original production data options that are on it. I can't garantee it but I will try.

Most owners have seen just under 3000 pounds.

The numbers provided above are in fact for the older S52. For 2001 and 2002 they squeezed the 331 hp S54 into the cars (although with only 315hp due to intake and exhaust restrictions).

Low 13's / high 12's with handling to match.

Handling to match???? Actually with a rear suspension from the E30 they are reported to be a handfull on the track. I think his is a 2000 as well so 240 hp.

I have always liked those cars, and definately have great respect for BMW's M-versions. Even the 240hp mill is a sweet piece of work. I am pretty sure even a stock 951 will dust it on a racetrack but I think you are right in a stoplight race, the 951 would probably need a QM to pass the M-coupe.

Cool car, congrats
