Post Where to buy a 968 Turbo?

? Anyone know of a place? Or a 944 Turbo that's insanely 'tricked out'?

You won't find a 968 Turbo, and if you do buy a lottery ticket.

As for a 944 Turbo that's insanely tricked out just wait till either someone on this forum sells their car.

Other options would be to just buy one in good shape and fix it up yourself. I've also occasionally seen "tricked out" ones on eBay, and even a few race cars. These often demand upwards of $20k though.

To me if you aren't going for the rare/collector aspect of it you would just be better off going with a normal 968 and fixing it all up with the best of the best of everything, and you would still probably be under $60,000 (including car). You would end up with something that is much more to your personal tastes (as you would have a say in EVERYTHING on it), have the joy of doing it yourself, and probably end up with a faster/better car.

Anyways I see the 968 being a better Daily Driver (i.e. it would need an interior), with a 944 Turbo for the track (gutted, roll bar..just keep street legal and with 2 seats).

It's not a factory turbo, but it's a turbo alright.

I want that car and it's in my backyard. Lindsey has some special cars. One of their customers just bought the Phil Hill Lemans winning 1967 Ferrari for something like $6 million. Poor thing had to sell his F50 to finance it and the guy drives it on our horrible streets.

There were 16 Factory built 968 Turbo S's (14 went to customers, factory kept 2) and there were 3 Factory racecars 968 Turbo RS's built in 1993. Info on 968.net or Panorama. Also, Powerhaus (and others) does 968 Turbo conversions.

Turbo S had 305 hp
Turbo RS had 337 hp (some say more like 400).

These cars are pretty well documented and if one had the means and motivation, could be tracked down and purchased. (I wish I had the means).

Ciao.

Ciao.

I'm now leaning towards finding a 87+ 951 that's done up right ;-). I want all the cool interior options and stuff.
I'll be paying cash... price really isn't of any concern.
