Question Throwout bearing question

Hi, newbie here: My brother's having fun doing his first clutch job on his 944--woohoo!!--no turbo, 83 using old style clutch kit. Does anyone know the assembly order of the shims and spring on the throwout bearing? we think that the 4 spacers provided go on the bearing first, followed by the circular spring with the spring tips resting on the spacers. then the bearing goes on the pressure plate, followed by the large ring and retainer clip. Is this correct? Thanks!

BTW, my brother's under the car with a pressure plate in on hand, torque tube in the other, one foot holding up engine, the other the transaxle! how long do you think he'll last? ;~)

that order is correct, but you probably don't need all four spacers, they are there to compensate for a machined flywheel, try assembling with two shims. I can usually get the retaining ring in place by kneeling on the press. plate and working the ring around the groove.
