Default Latest Top Gear included a 944 (951).

The feature was about RWD sports coupes for under 2,000P. I did not get to watch the whole thing, but Clarkson picked up a 951. Hammond found a 300ZX Twin Turbo, and Dr. Slow had a Ford Capri 2.8. The "theme" was the importance of RWD to a proper handling car. So, of course, the outcome was a demonstration of the very opposite. Classic Top Gear.

Actually it was an S2, not a 951. Same body kits though.

Is that the one where they drive to a track in France? That is actually a re-run. I like the part where they slam the doors on the P-car, and the sunroof pops up!

I like that Clarkson got in to a nine four four and it caused him to become a repair main.

rear tail light - Fixed
hatch switch - fixed
door swtichs - fixed
sunroof attemped to fix.
I love the "euro" wheel weight too.

Sad part is he could have clean up in the ice race had Hammond not wanted to play bumper cars.

The other sad thing was at the track the stig never drove the S2 for a lap. I think the Stig could have been the time he set in FWD car. Clarkson however never had shot. In fact he probalby would have turned slower in FWD car than the S2.

Clarkson actually really likes the 944s, dare I say more than the 911s of the same era

They're "new" to BBC America. Shame we can't get the actual new ones. Still...good programming.

I CAN MEND IT !! Lol. I think him mending the S2 is representative of the car and its owners that anyone can mend a car. That wheel weight was ingenious. Lol.

Although that 944 looked like it had original, 21 year old suspension. It was wallowing and heeling over like a schooner.

Good episode, but I thought it was for less than 1500 pounds? Either way, a 944 S2 and a 300zx twin turbo.... is really that the going rate in Eurpoe?
1500 converts to around 2400 USD. No way in hell you touch either of those for even 2x that price around here!

I've noticed the cars in these type "challenges" on TG tend to be a little underpriced compared to market values. But it is worth mentioning that S2 was beat and rather tired. Body was pretty banged up. There was some surface rust here and there. Interior was shot. Had some shoddy aluminum-sprayed trim bits. Suspension was totally worn out. Had over 200K miles on it. Put up a car like that for sale on Rennlist and people would be saying you'd be lucky to get a great deal more than that for it.

True, but I only catch top gear on BBA America. So I get what I can get. The first air on BBC America was on monday. (I know I could get on line, but I have no problem waiting and don't want to mess with internet TV stuff).
