GEEZ! This thread ended up way back here. Anyways, I'm back from AR, so hi. Anyways, when Ireally thought about it, I'm kidding myself if I'm going to get a car to work on before my dad gets back from Egypt in June. Atleast one good thing happened, my dad's going to buy himself a '65 Mustang coupe that my great-great uncle was restoring, so, yay for him;he has his project, so now I need mine. Moving back to this subject, thanks for the replies people, and both sides have solid reasons for their outtake. Yeah, well, even though it's stil not at a bad price, I'm kind-of kidding myself. Oh, and while on the eBay topic, I am so mad. I won a paintball gun, and the store sent my the wrong model. Argh...

Question

24 hours to go and it's at $1700 so Kenneth what is your budget?

Hmmm... presuming T-belt broken = bent valves, what's the cost estimate on repair if he dose his own labor? Porsche valves are obscenely expensive so maybe $1000?

so be prepared!

Oh and a shameless plug - Kenneth look at my sig... I'm selling my 1984 running 944 I would like to get the $4000 I paid two years ago but I will probably have to come down on the price. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Too bad he got a mustang instead. Shoot, if I have kids I would have him turning wrenches when he is old enough to hold one and on a kart track at the first chance. You have a cool dad. I wish my dad did that for me when I was a kid and spend time to teach me how to work on cars. Michael was probably jealous his dad never did something like that for him and used profanities around him when he was growing up.

Hehe. My dad is going to pick that 'stang up in June, but I'm glad for him; he has wanted a mustang since he was in high school, so now he's fulfilled his dream. Anywas, maybe I'll talk to my dad later; the wrst thing he can do is say no, right?

If you are able to convince him to get it anyways, I will help you and set you up with used parts for next to nothing. Good working cylinder head from an 1985 with less than 100k miles for $75 if you get shipping so you don't have to worry about replacing valves and spending lots of money. I also know where to find head gasket sets for under $60. Too bad you wouldn't be able to drive for a while.
