Unhappy Failed inspection -- anyone have a power mirror from an 86+?

Hey guys. When I bought my 86 951, the driver side mirror had been cracked off its housing in some sort of ritualistic mirror-breaking accident, and I haven't bothered to repair it yet. The mirror is still there, but the housing stalk (my name for it, not sure what its supposed to be called) is cracked. Right now I have it glued/bondoed/taped to the car and have a temporary plastic mirror glass replacement piece in it.

Problem is, I just went to get my car inspected today and, as I feared, they failed it for faulty driver side mirror. Anyone here have a driver's side power mirror for an 86+ 944? (I assume its late model only, but if you have one from an earlier model that is the same, by all means...) The car is black, so I'd prefer to get a black one, but I'm willing to consider getting it sprayed to match if another one comes up. I've been talking to someone about buying his, but hes been slow with the emails and I haven't heard from him in a few weeks now. Any help would be appreciated!

they failed it because....

is it a mirror. Is it where its supposed to be? then thats all you need. What , does it have to "look good" or something? I am so glad there are no inspections in FL.

They failed it because it was a temporary plastic reflective piece which honestly does no better than not having a mirror at all. I'm big, and the car is small, so I can quickly check my left side with a slight head turn. I was expecting it though. I'm just glad we don't have emissions tests here

Sure Lego does. Think his car is red though.

Pass inspection then get it painted.

I have two of them. both are the not metalic black. One is chipped up pretty badly, the other has very few chips. The wires have been clipped on the one that is chipped up. I think the other is in tact, and if not I at least have the plug. Send me a PM if you want either of them. I have a matching passenger side for the good one also.

I am looking for a 86+ Driver's side power mirror... I own a Red 1985.5 Porsche 944 n/a. Someone bumped into my mirror and now its just "hanging" on via power cables. Please email me at shmorri2@unity.ncsu.edu if you've got one I can use.. Thanks!

I have several mirrors, both drives and pass side. Most are the ultra rare guards red!! If you can't work something out with Manning, pm or e-mail me
