Post Is the AJUSA coolant hose kit complete?

Happy New Years!]

Just wondering if the coolant hose kit being sold on AJUSA's website - Coolant Hose Kit-
is complete for our 951's. If not, how can I find the complete set without buying it piece by piece. Or is that the only way? Does anyone know how much it would cost - minus the metal coolant pipe? Thanks!

fyi: I had Porsche replace all of my hoses for $350. The kit at AJUSA for an 88 NA is $80.

Don't know about the completeness though.

I counted 13 coolant hoses in my head, 14 if you include the vent line from the reservoir. Their kit includes 14 hoses. Sounds like it is probably complete and a great deal at $116.95. I am sure that these are not the factory hoses, so I am somewhat concerned about the fit. Anyone have experience with this?

Looks like they have a different kit for '88 and '89 cars, which leads me to believe that they do a fairly good job with their kits. I believe that the '88+ cars have a different coolant distribution pipe than the earlier turbos.

thanks guys for the info...

i think the AJUSA link Tabor posted is the same as the one i found. so now the question is, has anyone tried it?

and while we're on the topic, how many miles does the updated water pump generally last?

A couple of years ago I order a set from them. Complete set. Good fit and quality. That said, when I changed the alternator I decided to change a few with OEM parts. Quality of the hoses seems to be the same, I could not tell the difference.

i know this is an old thread, but i thought i'd troll for a little more info. i'm about to order this kit for my '87 951.... anyone have any bad experiences with them or know of a better deal?

i looked in PET and also counted 14 hoses.

do you guys reccomend changing the hose clamps as well? ajusa also has a kit of all the clamps for $17 or so... is it worth the money?

I bought the kit including the clamps for my '87 n/a. There were 11 hoses in all. But everything fit just perfect, no problems at all. I'm feeling good that all are replaced since I had no idea whether any or all of them were original. Anyway, it was nice having the whole kit there since as you're taking stuff off you can just move on to the next piece you need. I'd say a definite thumbs up.

b.s.

i got the kit and it's complete for the 951, except for the hose that leads to the back of the auxilary water pump for the turbo. i'd have to say it's pretty quality stuff, from what i can tell. at the very least, they'll last you a few years. some of the hoses are porsche parts too (they have the porsche sticker on them)

i also bought the hose clamp kit, which was worth it. most of the ones on the car were rusty and nasty. the only clamps i reused was the one for the hose that goes to the waterpump. it was wider than the one ajusa supplied - i just felt safer using the old one.

btw, the hoses also include the heater hoses. did you get a new heater valve yet? Europroducts (i don't have the exact name with me now - Hugh, can you help?) sells it for about 12 bucks. can't beat that.

hope that helps.

i am attempting to replace *every* hose that i can find in my car. there was bad "mixing" going on when i bought it, and since i have now burst two hoses, i'm assuming all the rest are nearly shot and want to swap every one out.

to that end, could you help me figure out which, if any, hoses i will need to purchase seperately from this kit?

here are the pictures from PET:

engine cooling plumbing:

hvac plumbing:

now in the first picture, sm, you are saying that hose #33 is not included? i'm assuming that #25 is also not included, so by my count, that is 10 hoses.

I see 3 that are "accessible" without removing the dash in the second picture (25,26,28). for a total of 13... so either i missed one or one of the two hoses mentioned in the first picture actually *is* included.??

do you think that the heater valve (that's number 27, right?) should be replaced as a preventative measure? it seems to be working fine right now, but damn it looks flimsy.

I ordered the hose and hose clamp kits from aj usa yesterday... interesting side note, i called them up and they said that if you don't order from the web page it costs an extra $15!! i bitched at the salesman for a stupid policy of discouraging customers from interacting with them and then realized it was uselss and hung up. now i will have no way of knowing whether my order has shipped. you all should make a point to enjoy interacting with real people while you can... it won't be long until everyone gets replaced with a nice friendly computer.
