Yep 2V per cyl. We now have kits for all 2V 944 cars and all 4V 944 cars including the 968. The 928 4V cars will be done soon, to be followed by the 928 2V. After that will be a bolt-on twin turbo upgrade for 911 3.2 ltr and then 964 followed by 993. It's all just a never ending progression from one project to another for us.

The alternator quit. We thought we might get lucky with just a voltage regualtor change which we did at the event but it had no effect. The car would get one good run then start to misfire as the voltage dropped below 12V on it's way to 10V. I got one 'clean' lap in the morning before the car started getting unhappy. Then I missed all the other run sessions changing the voltage regulator, instructing students etc.. and just ran the car in the timed runs. I ran a 78 or somthing which was good enough for a third place finish. Kinda cool being within a couple of seconds of the Anderson full blown race car in my daily driver Cab running like dog doo. <img src="graemlins/jumper.gif" border="0" alt="[jumper]" /> I will have to bring out my Boxster race car next time if I can find super quiet muflers!!

You were within 8 seconds of us I believe. Pretty good, but then again, your running 17 inch wheels, 275 series tires, big fat turbo brakes, and a supercharger, along with a full blown racing suspension, a fuel/timing tuned system, Not exactly your average daily driver..take the carpet out and its a racer :-)

All in all, your chasing an 84 NA around the track thats running 15 inch wheels, stock intake and electronics, stock 84 NA brakes with the same pads we bought the car with a few months ago, stock headers, and old racing tires that are splitting around the rim and grip like shot glass on a marble bar. Our driver ROCKS, and the car ran awsome. Bring the 911/boxter out next time. It would be fun, and I see no reason we could not have a great time with a little racing banter about this. Are you going to the California Speedway? I don't think we will be there, I have some work to do on the car as far as tires and brakes goes.

Actually, I went and looked at the recorded best times, you ran a nice time of 78.49 and ours was a 74.97, THat is nice and tidy, but like I said, it won't be the same next time. I'll still run the 15's and stock brakes, just new shoes and disks. Along with a 4 wheel alignment and corner balance from Black Forest. See ya at the track!

Take Care!

John, How can we be 'within 8 seconds' of you when you KNOW as YOU stated my time and your time are EXACTLY 3.52 seconds apart. Further how can you compare your 2400# or less, trailered to the track, gutted, full suspention, full cage, race car to my dailey driver cabriolet that weighs 3300# plus with sterio system full power everything, A/C, air bags etc...??? You claim your 3.1ltr is the best thing out there so certainly up to the task aginst my SC S2 motor, right??? &gt;&gt;&gt;Bring the 911/boxter out next time. It would be fun, and I see no reason we could not have a great time with a little racing banter about this.&lt;&lt;&lt; Now the Boxster vs your car would be a little unfair We are going to California with two of our race cars, the Boxster and the 914/6, I hope you make it.

Derrek,

Relax, and if you read my post, I very clearly put the times in my post.

I never did say my 3.1 liter "was is the best thing out there". Where did you get that. I will say its a good engine, makes good power and didn't break down at the event. As far as your boxter goes, I hope you make it to the track, Like I said when I was at your shop a couple weeks ago, it looked good, so whats wrong with that?

Much faster than 944 Turbos, 968, 993, 996 etc....Some parts are not powder coated in the pics and will be matching the cam cover and such before sale, NEW Optima battery. BODY --&gt;Never hit and looks great, beautiful Alpine White, minor chips in front and a very light ding or two not requiring repainting, upgraded Hella H4 headlights with PIAA Zenon 80W/80W, Euro driving/fog light housings with PIAA H3 Zenon 80W bulbs in both, absolutly top end lighting!! Clear stone guards are a little yellow and need to be replaced, top is black and is in great shape. INTERIOR --&gt;Linen (white) leather Recaro seats with power on the drivers side, child seats in back, fold down cargo doors for skis and long items, all switches/*****/accessories are in full operational condition. Nice CD player with rear amp and upgraded full speaker door panels, full power top works flawlessly, average wear on the seats and carpet, some sun wear on the upper door panels as is usual. This is a supercar with daily driving capabilities and weekend prowling of the unsuspecting hot rodders too. Well balanced with a total upgrade approach vs a single focus on horsepower or handling. She accelerates hard, stops fast, and turns like a racecar, all with the wind in your hair!!

I don't know Derrek, thats quite a list to be CHASING my 84 944 NA :-) on 15 inch wheels, with old tires and stock na brakes.

See ya at the track!

Guys, please, let it rest already.

Build the same car, to the same spec, go race, and leave it at that.

HI Sam,

It's just the PCA stuff. Don't you have a chapter around your area?

Yea..but in my region Id say there are 55-70 members total, and not all of them are the racing/auto-x type of crowd. We could never put together a turn out like that w/ just Porsches. All auto-x go thru SCCA around here. Our region helps host "The Visit 1.0/2.0" (thats about as big as it gets in the midwest) I swear I will make it out to "Porsche Land" (ie So. California) when Im out of school. which is kinda soon.
