Sticking Hatch
Does anyone else have this problem. I press the electric hatch release button and then proceed to the back of the car and the hatch sticks on one side. So i tug at it a little, then proceed back to the front to press the button again. Now it opens
Anyone care to comment on how to rectify this?
Ahh another weekend in the garage.....

Sajid,
I have a similar problem on my 951.
I think it is related to the positioning of the "cups" that hold the hatch down. I moved one once and it has not been right since.
I have tried to align it, but it I have never gotten it quite right. Sometimes its little better, some times worse, but never "just right"
I have also heard about how the hatch shocks may play some roll in this.
I too would like to hear anyone elses experiences and attempts to fix.

I put new hatch shocks in mine and that certainly helps to lift the hatch. Most of the time it actually opens right up by itself ... kind of space age
I'd recomend playing with the bolts that hold the hatch down into the body ... make sure they are just the right length. Also, make sure the release is well lubed and not seized. and check the cable from the release motor under the carpet at the rear. Make sure it's pulling both releases properly.
You should be able to get it all tuned up.
Mine was a combination of old shocks, badly aligned pins , rusted release and broken cable from the hatch release motor! Works nice now

Be carefull putting new lift shocks on,many people claim this accelerates the delamination of the glass from the frame!!Just passing on what some here have said. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

I have the same problem. It is due to misalignment of the pins and the holes. I started having it after I replaced the rear hatch with another used one. In the one I replaced, glass started to separate a little more than in the one that came out (but in other aspects it looked better). I think the seperation deformes the frame and pins don't fit perfectly in the holes. In my case they are so far off, it is impossible to adjust. I have learned to live with it and open the trunk with a key.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Any tips on how to get this right other than trial and error. (for exmaple loosen then do this, tighten and they should be right?)
Thanks
