for a daily driver a Turbo would be the last 944 I would recommend. Not at all suitable for round town driving. Driving in bad weather would be treacherous.

I'd recommend a 944S2 (3000cc)

There is hardly any difference in outright performance and the S2 gives an instant throttle response and smoother more predictable delivery from low revs right through the rev band.

An S2 or a Turbo would be something you'd like more. Break out the Craigslist/Autotrader ads and pick a day to do some test driving and let us know what you think!
I don't mean to sound like a snob, but a Porsche 911 Turbo and most Lamborghini and Ferrari models don't have the horsepower or torque of my Corvette. I know there won't be much power...I have an 86 Corvette that has a whole 230hp...it isn't quick at all. I am looking for a fun, great handling daily driver. Would you go with a 944 or a Prelude? (the other car I thought about...briefly) Yeah, I thought you would go with a Porsche too!

Thats a pretty garage you have there, my friend. Needs a Porsche though...so good choice.
Right there with ya. I think it will be cool the have a Corvette in the garage and drive a Porsche to work.
