Hmm, I was always told my 951 was Slate Grey metallic and it looked exactly the same as this colour...unless of course I'm colour blind. Nice and clean whatever the colour.

Anyone got a picture/s to show the difference between Slate and Stone Grey?

Default different name/same colour

I'm pretty sure it's the same color (may even be same colour code) but Porsche changed the name from Stone to Slate in later models. One of the 968 guys is an expert on production stats - maybe he'll know.

In any case, that is one of the cleanest N/A's I've seen in a long time - since the early 90's anyway.

you're correct, Porsche has changed the english translation of a few colors from year to year, but the color code is really all that matters

I'd expect nothing less from Colin anyway...

give it up. i translated the color back in 04 when i got my steingrau S2. I call it stone gray, others call it slate gray.

whatever you call it, steingrau is one of the best colors for a 944!.... as long as the clear coat hasnt gone bad.
