RE: the battery tray issue:

If the holes are small enough just take some JB Weld (any hardware store, Walmart, etc.) which is super strong epoxy, mix up a little, spread it on like frosting. You may need a piece of scrap window screen so it doesn't drip through. Once it's dry you can sand it to take the high spots off and then prime and paint.

BTW, on later model cars Porsche began putting a drain tube on the battery so that any acid that overflowed or leaked would drain down through the fender well instead of making holes for turning DMEs into trash.

East of the Mississippi--acid rain will etch your paint if you leave it standing on the car without a good coat of wax. If you keep your car outside, wax often. Once acid rain etches the paint you're done. Only a very skilled hand can wet sand the paint if you have a clearcoat, and even then it all won't come out. I'm now garaged home and at the office, but I keep a P21S chammy in the car to dry it if the car got wet on the way to work.

Re: Spoiler drains, whenever I wash my car, I blast out the drains with the nozzle set on high pressure. Works real good.

Hey Dan,
What your cars needs is a nice home out in the desert. It hasn't rained here in months.

I feel your pain, I moved from Lake Ronkonkoma, Long Island 8 years ago and don't miss the weather a bit.

Dave951M, I figured acid rain would be a big problem down south by you, I've never seen trailer homes with garages . . .

No need to build garages, the jacked up 4x4 trucks are too big to fit. Besides, we've got to have at least 4 cars on blocks in the yard. They're a form of redneck recycling, makem into flower beds. Besides, why build a garage when a tornado is like a redneck divorce, either way, you lose the trailer. At least we haven't served any Hoffa burgers.

Hoffa was never made into burgers, he's in the parking lot at the Meadowlands. Just think, right beneath where the NNJR autox are held!

i didnt see any rust or holes, but it was pretty damn dirty in my battery compartment.

all the way to the passenger side of the compartment and towards the windshield there is a indent that goes to a hole in the side, is that where the drain should be? i dug what looks like 14 years worth of wet rotting leaves out of that little hole.

...i also scraped out the drains on my spoiler, sprayed it with water and the lake i usually get disappeared

How's your sunroof seal? I just replaced mine and although that leak is fixed, I still got a little water in the car during Friday's monsoon . Time to track down the next leak <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" />

my sunroof is funny, its the only part of my car that doesnt leak, but its the part of my car i would expect to leak since the motor is broken and it just sits there not clipped down (when i go 60 or faster the back part lifts up a bit and makes noise from the air going over it)
