Red face i cant find my vacuum leak

i can hear it when i pop the hood, and it causes a significantly rougher idle. any ideas on where to look? it sounds like it is coming from near the intake manifold...

I have not tried this myself but I hear that it works.Take a standard propane torch, the kind you can buy at any hardware store, and start up your car.You then take the torch, unlit, and open the on/off valve so gas is now coming out.You then point the end of the torch towards vacumn lines, around the intake manifold and any where else that you think there may be a leak. The theory is that the leak will draw in the gas and you will hear the motor rev up and smooth out because of the gas.Good luck. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

alternitivly you could use easy start or carb cleaner, it's much safer, even WD40 would do as if you stop the vacum the revs will change.
P.S. i didn't think you could leak vacum? I thought you leaked air into a vacum?

you can spray starter fluid a lot more places than you'll get propane to go...
